- 1 2⁄3 cups butter, softened
- 1 lb sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)
directions
- In a large bowl, combine all ingredients and mix using a pastry blender, and then your hands until completely mixed.
- Roll dough into small balls. Place balls on a very lightly greased baking sheet. Flatten slightly with a fork.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes, or until bottoms are golden brown. Don't over-bake.
- Cool completely before storing in an airtight container. Leftovers or extras can be frozen.
