Like most of us looking for a catsup sub- I was out of ketchup in the middle of a recipe, and this was the 1st recipe I came to. Because other reviewers said it was runny, I brought ingrediants to boil in a pan(watch closely this doesn't take long) and then I added 1TBS of cornstarch mixed with a little water to thicken. I added 1/2 tsp of salt after tasting it-still a little too sweet to use as a dipping ketchup- but since I'm using it for baked beans it will be fine
