- 1 cup dark corn syrup
- 1⁄2 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon grated lemon peel
- 1⁄4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 10 whole cloves
- 3⁄4 cup Burgundy wine or 3/4 cup dry red wine
directions
- Combine syrup and honey in medium saucepan and bring to boil.
- Add peel, cinnamon and cloves and remove from heat.
- Cover and cool completely; stir in wine.
- Strain sauce and store in airtight container.
