Burgundy Wine and Honey Sauce

"Serve this spiced wine and honey sauce over ham steaks or use it as a basting glaze for a whole ham. The recipe is from the R.S.V.P. section of a December 1985 Bon Appetit magazine. It was requested from The Old Apple Farm restaurant in Kansas City, Missouri."

  • Combine syrup and honey in medium saucepan and bring to boil.
  • Add peel, cinnamon and cloves and remove from heat.
  • Cover and cool completely; stir in wine.
  • Strain sauce and store in airtight container.
