  • Heat oil and cook onion with garlic for 2 minutes. Add the beef and sprinkle with flour and paprika. Add salt and pepper and brown beef on each sides.
  • Add beer, broth and herbs. Bring to a boil. Cover and let simmer for 1 1/2 hour.
  • Add vegetables and barley. Continue cooking for 45 minutes.
