Boatwrights Sweet & Spicy Salad Pecans

ingredients
- 3⁄4 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1⁄2 - 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (depending on how hot you want them)
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 lb pecans
directions
- Combine butter & brown sugar in a large heavy pot.
- Bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in cinnamon, chili, & cayenne.
- Add nuts, stir to coat.
- Pour on parchment lined cookie sheet.
- Bake at 325 for 20 - 30 minutes, till no longer syrupy, stir once or twice while baking.
- Sprinkle with salt.
- Cool & store in airtight container.

Chef #8832636. My memebership on this site goes back to the days of recipezaar, so I have seen a lot of changes on the site over the years. I still miss the forums, they had a wealth of information in them, and it was great to be able to connect with other chefs through them. I don't think zmail exists anymore either, so I don't think we have any way of contacting other chefs now. I haven't been on the site much in the last few years, mainly because of the changes. I do still pop in to look for specific recipes.
I enjoy cooking, and am passionate about baking.
