ingredients
- 1 1⁄2 cups crispy rice cereal
- 2 cups old fashioned oats (or quick cooking)
- 1⁄4 cup raisins
- 1⁄4 cup dried dates
- 1⁄4 cup sweetened coconut
- 1⁄4 cup sliced almonds
- 1⁄4 cup pecans, chopped
- 1⁄4 cup sunflower seeds
- 1⁄4 cup wheat germ
- 1⁄2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1⁄2 cup light corn syrup
- 2⁄3 cup crunchy peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
directions
- Combine all dry ingredients EXCEPT brown sugar in a large bowl.
- In a small sauce pan combine brown sugar and light corn syrup.
- Heat until just boiling while stirring constantly (do not cook longer to avoid scorching sugar).
- Remove from heat. Stir in peanut butter and vanilla.
- Add peanut butter mixture to dry ingredients.
- Quickly combine, then press into an ungreased 9"x13" pan. I wet my hands with cool water, then firmly press the mixture as flat as possible.
- Once cool cut into 12 bars.
- Enjoy!
