ingredients
- 2 cups basil leaves
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3⁄4 cup sugar
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt (Maldon)
- 1 lemon, zest of
- 6 egg yolks
- basil leaves, for garnish
directions
- Blend or process all ingredients. Cook lightly until sugar dissolves. Strain into a container and chill uncovered.
- Freeze in an ice cream maker, serve with extra basil leaves.
