"This is a recipe my mother got from a dear friend and even though it takes five to six hours of cooking, it has become our favorite stew. And it is so easy to make with a minimum of work involved."

I am a medical transcriptionist, mother of two, grandmother of one. I consider myself a good cook, but since I am widowed I don't make a whole lot of things....until a special occasion....and then I like to try different things. I am really good (bad?) about making things I have never made before and trying them out on others. Thank goodness I haven't had any major disasters yet :o)
