- 1 1⁄4 cups flour
- 1 3⁄4 cups granulated sugar
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1⁄2 cups egg whites
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1⁄2 teaspoon almond extract
directions
- Beat egg whites on highest setting until they form still peaks.
- Add cream of tartar, vanilla, and almond extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt.
- Gradually add flour mix to egg white mix, beating well.
- Pour into an ungreased 10 inch tube pan.
- Place cake pan in oven while its off. set it to 325F.
- Cook for 1 hour (including preheat time) until golden brown.
- Turn upside down on a plate.
- When completely cooled, extract with a spatula.
