Savoury Avocado Snack


  1. De-rind the bacon. Fry it in a little oil in a frying pan over a moderate heat until crisp.
  2. Peel the avocado pear and slice it, removing the stone. Grate or slice the cheese.
  3. Cut the French bread in half lengthways, and spread with the butter. Arrange layers of the avocado and bacon on the bread. Top with the cheese slices or grated cheese.
  4. Grill under a hot grill for a few minutes, until the cheese is golden, bubbling and melted. Eat at once.
