I love gingerbread, but my husband hates it, so I don't make this often,mostly at the holidays.
Make and share this Old-Fashioned Gingerbread recipe from Food.com.
- Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating at med. speed with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add egg and molasses, mixing well.
- Combine flour and next 5 ingredients; add to creamed mixture alternately with water, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Mix after each addition.
- Pour batter into a lightly greases and floured 9 inch square pan. Bake at 350F for 35 to 40 minutes or until wooden pick inserted, comes out clean. Serve with a scoop of whipped cream.
This is a wonderful, light gingerbread. The only change I made was to increase the ginger cinnamon because I like a lot of spice. Simple to make, and great served warm. Thanks for sharing!
