ingredients
- 1 egg
- water (enough so that, combined with egg, amounts to 1 cup)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 2 cups bread flour
- 2 1⁄4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons walnuts
- 2 tablespoons sunflower seeds (or 1/4 cup of any mix of nuts grains, oats, cracked wheat, etc.)
directions
- All ingredients should be at room temperature.
- Place all ingredients except for nuts/grains in bread machine the order shown. Add nuts/grains before the second kneeding (some bread machines beep when it is okay to open the lid to add ingredients - mine does this at 2:25).

First time I ever made a multigrain bread and I searched many recipes and they all had so many ingredients that I would have to buy special. I found this recipe and was thrilled to see it required only things that I usually have on hand and it turned out really good but my next loaf will be made on the light crust setting on the bread machine, the medium crust was too dark and hard. Add butter and honey to the slice of bread, super yum! Thank you!
