This is my grandmother's recipe for Brown Bread. It is good and goes great on a Saturday night with Baked Beans. It is very easy as long as you are going to be around for three hours in order to steam it.
- In a large bowl mix the first five ingredients.
- Then stir in the rest.
- Divide between two 1-pound greased coffee cans.
- Cover top of can with foil or wax paper and steam for 3 hours.
- Serve warm with butter.
