Easy Honey French Dressing

"Sweet and tangy and much better than store bought. Once you make this, you'll be experimenting with alot of other homemade dressings. Most are surprisingly easy."

• Ingredients: 8
• Yields: 1 3/4 cups
• Serves: 6-8

ingredients

• 1 cup canola oil
• 1⁄2 cup ketchup (Heinz)
• 1⁄2 cup red wine vinegar
• 1⁄2 cup honey
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 tablespoon sugar
• 1⁄2 teaspoon dry mustard
• 1⁄4 teaspoon garlic powder

directions

1. Mix all ingredients, except canola oil, together. With wire whisk, slowly whisk in canola oil until well blended.
2. Chill, serve & enjoy.

I was looking for something similar to Marzetti's honey French dressing. This isn't it, but is an excellent dressing. The vinegar flavor is very strong, and I like that. I found that adding 1/2 cup of light corn syrup (or Lyle's Golden Syrup) makes it thicker and sweeter, so it is more like Marzetti's, but it is delicious as written, too.
