Danish Cookies (Press Cookies)

"This is another old recipe of my mothers. It's at least 50 years old or more. I don't know where she got it but it is very good and buttery.I am going to guess on the amount of cookies it makes. I know it makes a lot. They also freezes well."

  1. These are wonderful light and buttery cookies. I borrowed my best friend's cookie press and made pressed cookies for the holidays. Be prepared, this recipe really makes a lot of cookies.

  2. This was only the second time that I had used my cookie press. The dough was to stiff and I used 1 tablespoon of water in order to get it to the proper consistency. This made a lot more than 100 cookies. I actually lost count. They are in the freezer and will be a great addition to my cookie trays this holiday.

  3. I am so sorry that it has taken me so long to post this recipe - - I must say that this recipe is fantastic. I got extremely creative with this and put it into a fluted cookie silicone pan. Baked for 10 minutes and topped with apricot jam and sliced almonds. Put back in the oven for approximately 8 more minutes until the almonds toasted. Deeeeee-Lish!!!

  4. I made this recipe last night, only adding 1/2tsp MORE of vanilla to it. They are amazing! Thank you so much for posting. Not only does it work well for cookie presses, it's a great cookie to roll out and cut shapes with.

  5. I bought a brand new cookie press at a second hand store for a dollar - I was sooooo eager to try it out. I halved the recipe and only used 2 cups of flour and swapped almond essence for vanilla. I sprinkled half the cookies with some sugar and others with cinnamon sugar, they look so pretty!! I made about 80, but my cookie press is quite small and makes tiny cookies, they are going to make great Christmas gifts this year. Thanks for posting the recipe.
