For our 5 year olds lunch box for either snack time or lunch for his first year at kindergarten that are reasonably healthy but will bring a smile to his face when he finds them. This recipe would also be good for long car trips.
- 8 ounces medium cheddar
- 16 thin pretzel sticks
- honey dijon mustard or ranch dressing
- Cut cheese into 16 cubes. Let stand at room temperature 10 to 15 minute or until cheese is at room temperature.
- Insert a thin pretzel stick into each cube.
- Serve with Honey Dijon Mustard or your child's favorite dressing.
This is such a great idea. For some reason this week my 6 yr. old son did not want to have lunch at school so I packed all week. He said he was tired of the same 2 lunches I make him. So I got on Zaar and found creative and kid-friendly ideas. This was one of them. Thanks for the new idea!
mmmm! I'm a college student and I LOVED these in my lunch this week. perfect snack! thanks for a keeper. :)
I love these! I take them to work with me sometimes to have as my mid-morning snack. I haven't dipped them in the honey dijon yet but may try that next time. Thanks for posting!
