- 1⁄3 cup oatmeal
- 5 tablespoons non-fat vanilla yogurt
- 1⁄2 cup orange juice
- 1⁄2 cup frozen blueberries
- 6 frozen strawberries
directions
- Blend till smooth. Enjoy with a straw.

This is an excellent start to your morning! I was a little hesitant about having oatmeal in my smoothie, so I decided to give it a little grind on it's own in the blender before adding the rest of the ingredients. I made the recipe as directed, using fresh blueberries and also used an entire 6 oz container of Light Fat Free French Vanilla Yogurt. It was so good, I wanted a second! Thank you, MsSally!

What a great way to get the day started! Taking some advice from the folks below, I blended the yogurt, orange juice and oats (I used quick oats) to chop the oats into a fine grain, then added the rest of the ingredients. The result was a fresh, fruity, thick and delicious smoothie. Thanks so much, Ms Sally! I'll be doing this a few times every week!

Another time I think I would blend the oatmeal a little before adding other ingredients, as another reviewer suggested. I added the whole container of a Yoplait blueberry yogurt, and fresh berries, since those are what I had. I added 5 heaping tbsp. of frozen orange juice concentrate, and probably 6 ice cubes. I also added a heaping tbsp. protein powder and a heaping tbsp. of oatmeal bran. The doc says I have to get my cholesterol down, so this is part of my attempt at eating more oatmeal. It was very filling and delicious!

<p>First, I'd like thank everyone who reviews my recipes. I can't thank each of you personally although I try. <br /><br />I Live in central Virginia, 5 miles from where I grew up, w/ my Husband of 17 years and my beautiful daughter. She is 10 and is the joy of my life. We waited for a long time to be blessed with a child and it is the best thing I've ever done. Be a mother. <br /><br />I love to cook. We eat very healthy, after a life altering experience at 31 I've been on a journey to be healthy and lose weight. I've lost 50 lbs and have kept most all of it off for the last 9 years. There are always fluxs, durring stressful times, but I've mananged to keep most of the weight off. My best advice to anyone trying to lose weight is to remember that it didn't get there overnight and it won't come off overnight. I've never said I was on a diet. It is a lifestyle.</p>
<p>When Zaar first changed to Food I took a short hiatus. I was going thru a very hard time in life and was completely unmotivated to do anything and thus gave up my hosting duties on Holiday Tag. But now with a new perspective I'm hoping to get back to cooking and tagging.</p>
