- Combine all ingredients. Mix can be stored for later use. I store mine in the fridge.
- To prepare one serving, simply place 1/4 cup of the mix in a very tall, microwavable bowl, or use a saucepan on the stovetop.
- Add 1/2 cup of water (you may substitute part of the water for sugar-free syrup, in any flavour desired).
- Bring to a boil, stirring, and continue to boil and stir for at least two minutes, to thicken.

Just made this for the first time. Used Chia seeds vs Flax, unroasted Walnuts vs Almonds...added Cinnamon. Fantastic! There are so many variations, I can't wait to try with sugar-free coffee syrups and fruits. Apart from day-to--day use, this will make fantastic camping breakfast too. I add boiling water to a bowl to prevent micro-spill overs.

It's really nice to stumble upon one of my recipes posted online that includes credit - thanks to the uploader! I am still around, you can find more of my recipes at trulylowcarb.com and learnlowcarb, com. I still eat this cereal quite often, too. Guess I should share this one on my blog/facebook judging by the nice reviews here. :)

This was a God send, as I was so tired of eggs, bacon, sausages, etc. for breakfast and I really missed my hot cereal! You must let it sit after cooking for 2 minutes to thicken, at which time I add a pad of butter, a sprinkle of cinnamon and a tsp. of Splenda...yum! The first time I made it with almonds as directed, but since I ran out, I used chopped walnuts instead and it still tasted wonderful. Thanks for sharing this great recipe (even my non-low carb kids loved it!).

For someone as outgoing as I am, it is astounding that I have been unable to do something as seemingly simple as filling out my home page, so consider this draft one...(or would that be daft one??)...

I am blessed to live an ordinary life, have family that I dearly love, get great reward from volunteer work, and have the luxury of indulging in far too much time cooking and reading about food. I am a retired nurse and have been married to a really wonderful man for 37 years. I am a happy person, and my life is very satisfying, but somehow I can't translate the essence of ME into words, as some on Zaar have done so well.
I particularly enjoy reading reviews, and the Q&A forum for all the expert and generous advice that the members share.
Since joining Zaar, I rarely use my extensive cookbook library...this is one terrific site.
