  1. I used to make these bundles back in the 70?s for my boyfriend and myself and we loved them. Had a pound of burger on hand and couldn?t remember everything in the recipe so I googled it. Voila! The only thing that I did different was making my own mushroom soup. Organic foods are my thing, and it?s not all that hard to do. Mushrooms, roux and milk with salt, pepper and nutmeg.

  2. I have been making this recipe for years and there are never any leftovers. My twist? I add a 1/2 tsp garlic powder, some fresh ground black pepper and a 1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce to the burger along with the evaporated milk and double the sauce. Served with crusty bread and butter, a salad and fresh cut fruit for balance, it is a never miss dinner!

  3. This is a recipe that has been handed down throughout the generations of our family and I can't wait to give it to my girls.. it is one of my favorite dinners and it's so easy to make too! I don't use the evaporated milk but I do add some milk in with the mush soup and I usually use Stove Top savory herb stuffing

  4. Quick/easy/excellent dinner!!!!!! I've been making these for over 30 years. A couple years ago I didnt have the evaporated milk so I just used 2% they turned out the same as if I used the evaporated milk. Also, instead of mushroom soup i've always used cream of chicken and its excellent!! I've also have added chopped onion to the meat and lately ive been adding celery and onion to the stuffing mix.

  5. My family has been injoying this recipe for years. The first time we made it, however, we made a mistake and used sweetened condensed milk instead of evaporated milk. It was a huge hit!! We tried it again using evaporated milk, and it wasn't as good. Ever since, we make it the "wrong way", and everyone loves it. We also make the whole box of stuffing mix and just put it around the bundles before baking. It is great!!

  1. For the OCD people like me and newbies to cooking: Make sure to use 1/5 cup stuffing since the hamburger is divided into 5 patties, otherwise you won't have any stuffing for the 5th one since 1/4 cup only gets you 4 servings ;>)

  2. I have been making this recipe since the 70s!!!! It was originally in a Better Homes & Gardens issue with several other good recipes. I have kicked it up a bit by substituting Golden Mushroom Soup (much tastier!!) and I add chopped celery to the stuffing... like I would do for a turkey!!! I often double the sauce and make sure I make enough for leftovers!! It is way too tasty!!

I have lived in Vancouver since 1987. I am a transplant from Minnesota. We have 3 grown sons, a wonderful daughter in law, 2 beautiful granddaughters,1 grandson 2 dogs (1 Border Collie named Molly and 1 Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix named Gulliver, that we rescued) . I am for now working in property management and still trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up. My job is interesting, but quite demanding! My DH wants me to quit, I would love to stay home and be his goddess. I love to be at the beach flying kites, sailing with our friends, billiards, cooking, grilling and entertaining friends and family. We downhill ski in the winter and enjoy our family and our animals . If I had a month off I would love to spend it with our family together at warm tropical destination. Just enjoy our grown children and our grandchildren. Then when that trip came to an end, I would love for my DH & I to spent some time somewhere warm and tropical all alone. I could become quite the traveler. We had some life changes last October, I lost my balance and fell. I had 2 spiral breaks in my leg, my tibia and my fibula and another small half moon break. I did have some surgery and have 3 plates and 16 screws in my leg until this coming spring in March, then I will have some hardware removed, hopefully. Had to give up some sports! But heck it could be a lot worse. My DH just started a new job! That's good news!
