Vicky's Pretzel Salad

- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 20 ounces crushed pineapple
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- 16 ounces Cool Whip
- 1 cup pretzel stick, crushed
- 1⁄2 cup butter, melted
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
directions
- Mix crushed pretzel sticks, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1/2 cup melted butter.
- Spread on baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 7-8 minutes. They should be crisp. Store in container until ready to serve.
- Mix cream cheese, pineapple, 1/2 cup sugar and 16 oz cool whip and refrigerate.
- NOTE: right before serving time, combine both mixtures ---- if you combine them early they will become soggy.

All the ladies at girl's night out absolutely loved this salad. Instead of mixing the pretzels and salad together, we just sprinkled it on top of each dish. Tip: Drain the crushed pineapple before adding it to the mixture. Also, I did not use all of the Cool Whip. Did not seem to need it. I will definitely make this again, soon!

<p>My love of cooking started when I was in grade school. My earliest memory was making a wonderful birthday cake from Scratch with my Grandmother in a big bright red bowl. I remember we had a lot of fun making it and eating the cake. <br /><br />I have a wonderful husband and 2 daughters 16yrs and 4yrs old. I have a Social Work degree and worked with mentally ill adults for several years. I really enjoyed my work in a group home. I currently am staying home with my youngest and am not sure what I will do when she goes to school. I might get back into the Social Work field. <br /><br />I am sharing recipes that I want to keep safe from my own family favorites as well as recipes that I would like to try and haven't made yet. <br /><br />Recipezaar is a wonderful place and I love all the recipes everyone shares.
