ingredients
- 1 - 1 1⁄4 cup frozen strawberries
- 2 cups skim milk
- 10 -12 ice cubes
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
directions
- Place all ingredients into a blender and mix until well blended. Serve in a tall glass with a straw.
- Sometimes I will add orange slices, bananas, or blueberries if I have some extras needing to be eaten. I also have made it a bit more like a smoothie by substituting 1 cup vanilla yogurt for one cup of milk. I have also used Splenda in place of the sugar with success.

RECIPE SUBMITTED BY
I am the mother of four young kids. Prior to children I was a special education teacher and after a few years of teaching post children I wanted to stay home. I became an in-home child care provider. It is a great job. I can be home with my young children, be at home afterschool for my older children and work out a schedule that fits my families needs. I also still get to teach which is a passion of mine but not have to worry about handing in lesson plans. I get to see young kids learn all the time. As a childcare provider I do not always get a lot of time to cook. I like meals that are uncomplicated. I love to find foods that my husband or my kids really like. I also like to try recipes that have ingredients that my family doesn't love in hopes that I will find the recipe that will help them enjoy their vegetables or whole grains.
