Smokey BBQ Sauce

"I have developed this sauce over a few years. The flavors develope a richer more flavorful sauce over the next day or so in the fridge. I always have everything on hand and takes no time to make. I keep an extra bottle in the fridge. If you want spicier, you can add some chopped jalapeno, or onion."

  1. This looked like just the kind of barbeque sauce I was looking for - and I set out to make it only to find I had about 1/2 cup of ketchup left in the bottle. I decided to use this recipe, but cut it way back and kinda estimated on the amounts. I also did not cook it on the stovetop either. I had seen other no-cook barbeque sauces so thought this might work here too. I am sure it would be even better if I had followed the directions exactly, but even with my changes it was delicious! Not too sweet, not too smokey - perfect! I can't wait to get some more ketchup and make a full recipe!

I live in the north west part of Florida with my husband and two wonderful boys. We love the pristine sugar white sandy beaches. I enjoy gardening, reading. Fishing with the family, camping, and entertaining. I collect sea shells and cookbooks. If I have to evacuate for hurricanes, I take my pets, photos, important papers, and my cookbooks. I have recipes that are hand written from my mother and grandmothers that cannot be replaced. My favorite cook is Paula Deen. I have all of her cookbooks. I love to watch her and her children on the Food Network. I also subscribe to her magazine.
