  1. The poppy seeds and whole mustard seeds (I used wholegrain mustard) give an interesting crunch, which is lovely, and the dressing tasted great poured over hot, steamed broccoli. I think it would work well as an unusual dressing for potato salad, too. Perhaps it was the individual character of my cider vinegar, but I found the dressing to be very vinegary and a little bit harsh. If I were to make it again, I would use less vinegar (say, 1 to 2 tbsp) and more olive oil (say, 3 tbsp). An interesting recipe, which is worth tweaking according to personal taste.
