Pawpaw Paradise

You really should use papaya for this drink, but mangos will provide a good substitute if papayas are not available."

directions
- Peel papaya, and cut into small pieces, puree in elelcric blender.
- Add the milk,rum, ice, and sugar. Blend thoroughly until smooth.
- Pour into 4 ounce glasses.
- Garnish with a strawberry.

Hey! PAWPAW! No seriously, I used papaya and I wish I would have taken advice and used mango. Either way, this was hard on the rum, baby! Holy cow, I added some passion fruit juice to it and Ooooh that made it even better and toned it down a bit. But the guests still ran around saying, "PAWPAW!" 5 stars for entertainment! -
Very good! My papaya was a little over ripe and I didnt add all of the sugar. Next time I will put a few strawberries in the blender too. A great recipe ChaBear01!! -

I also used a mango for this and it worked out great, IMO. I made these for my sister, nieces and daughter last night and everyone loved them. Thanks for posting. -
Mango was substituted 'cause I didn;t have papaya on hand--I look formward to making this again with papaya--delicious, Ms. Bear.

I used frozen papaya and ice cream in place of the milk. Since I used that I added water for easy blending in place of cubes. Very good!

That baby in the picture...yep that's me some eon's ago...not even gonna tell you how many. I live in the Sierra Mountains bordering a National Forest with my chickens and goats. My wonderful husband who passed on October 10,2006 was extremely ill with several terminal illnesses and is sorely missed. I Love to cook good food, but Italian is one of my specialties. Baking is my fun...pies, cookies, and making candy. Don't do cakes, nobody here eats them. But make a cheesecake and it disappears.
Gardening is a hobby, and love to run out and pick fresh vege's and herbs to add to my meals. Besides my dogs, cats, fish, 3 goats, I have a really good collection of chickens, and the ladies present me with a steady supply of fresh eggs, and fertilizer for the garden. Food preservation and storage is a passion.

As you might be able to tell from my name I collect bears, ceramic and stuffed (Started with one on the Birth of my first grandchild) now have over 600 bears and no room in my house for another...not that they don't continue to find a spot in my humble home as everyone has to give me one no matter the occasion.
