We love my modified version...

I made as directed. I realized it was going to be way too hot for my kids, so I used a strainer to take out the crushed red pepper, which seems to have contributed to the wonderful combination of flavors even though I took it out. Then I tasted it andk new it needed to be a little sweeter for my kids to like it, so I added another tablespoon of sugar. Wala! Everyone loved it, especially my husband.

We were finishing a box of egg rolls from Costco and didn't have any of the sweet orange sauce that came with it... now we have a sauce that's even better.

Thanks!

This was really good and better than the sauces you get in Asian restaurants. I added more chili flakes for an extra kick and omitted the salt. DH is a salt lover, I am not, so if he wants it, he can add it himself. We dipped spring rolls and I poured the leftovers on rice the next day! Great! Awesome! Will definitely make this again! Thanks Countrylady!

In the words of Tracy Byrd, "I'm from the country & I like it that way"!!
On May 1, 2008 my husband and I started a new adventure. We'll be living in a 37 foot RV while our new home is under construction. Its out in the country on a dead end dirt road with lots of trees. For the next 4 months or so, most meals will be cooked on the BBQ and life will be full of challenges!
We love spending quality time with our friends & family - especially the grandkids!! The photo is 4 generations - my 84 year old mother, myself, my daughter & my youngest granddaughter - taken at the end of 2006.
I've participated in many contests & events here on Zaar but this is the first banner that I've posted. My thanks to Dreamgoddess for hosting the contest & SusieD for the banner design!
