This was really refreshing! I made it using a combo of 1 tbsp. honey, 1 mashed banana(large sized), 4 1/2 tbsps. powdered oats and 1 tbsp. low-fat milk as a substitute for water. After mixing everything together, I refrigerated this for about an hour, or I guess a little over an hour and then applied it onto my damp face and neck. I think refrigerating this is a good idea as when you apply this cold, you really feel refreshed. If your tired like I was, you wake up and you feel re-charged! Applying this was a slightly messy job, but the pack smelt very nice, and once applied, it felt very refreshing. I kept it on for 20 minutes before rinsing it off with water. Once I rinsed it off, my skin not only felt smooth and soft, but also I felt refreshed and I felt I was looking fairer! LOL. The banana in this really really moisturises the skin beautifully. I think I should make this a regular:) This made 2 facial masks! I'll be using some for my mom tomorrow and gifting the rest to a friend! Thank You, Annelies. This was truly refreshing, much needed and really good!

This was a refreshing, if slightly messy, facial cream, with a wonderful aroma. :)Since we could use either oats or ground almonds, I chose to use the ground almonds, hoping they would help exfoliate while the banana did its job in moisturizing. I had to work with the consistency a bit to make it stick better to my face, and barely added any mineral water at all. I think next time I would start with half a banana (this time I used a whole small one) and the same amount of nuts, etc. Rather nice and this made plenty extra - DD gave herself a facial too. I didn't think my skin felt any more moist after using this treatment, but it definitely was exfoliated and felt cool and soothing while applied. The only thing I didn't like was that my cheeks were very red after rinsing and remained this way for about 20 minutes after I removed the cream and some of the honey seemed to linger on my skin. My cheeks also felt a tiny bit raw - I think perhaps it exfoliated a bit too well. Next time I will try the oats rather than the ground almonds.

Both reviewers are right in saying that this is a rather messy facial, never thought to mention that, because I use this lying back in the bath and when it dribbles of my face I just put more on. So for everybody who is looking for a stay on the face facial, this is not the one for you, the banana will be slippery, even when you make it thicker.

Hello, my name is Bonnie and I am a very beautiful cat as you can see if you look at the picture at the top of this page.... What??.. I am supposed to talk about you??? But it says here: About Me!! Well all right then ......
My mom is Dutch and has moved to England in October 2007, after living 15 years in the Netherlands with my English dad. They don’t have any human children and “created” their own family, which means I have to share them with Hannah, she is a 6 years old tortie cat, Abby the dog, she is a 9 year old Beagle, and a one year old black Miniature Pincher named Poppy, I refuse to tell you my age but I am a georgious lilac British Shorthair cat!!
It is obvious she adores pets just by looking at her name she uses on Zaar (many on Zaar call her Pets or Petsie Poo), her name in real life is Annelies and that is a common Dutch name.
My mom always liked to cook, but since she joined Zaar it got out of control, and it doesn’t help that she is disorganized. Printed recipes everywhere in the house, the recipe binders have got bigger and just between you and me, her hips too!!!
I have lived in Holland all of my life until now, but they lived in several different countries/places:- desert and coastal Oman, up North and West in Holland, Vancouver-Canada, Aberdeen- Scotland and in Norway they lived in Bergen and Oslo. We have all moved together to England, as you can see I’ve already learnt the language!
I heard her say to Dad that this is the last time she moved to another country...she's had it with moving from one place to another! ( its her age...she's getting grumpy)
Mom is 55 years old but I always hear her say that the date of her birthday does not mean that much to her, the date of her cancer anniversary is more important, because so far she is a survivor.
Besides cooking she has other interests too, crafts, gardening and soap making.
She likes Zaar and is one of the hosts on the German-Benelux Forum here on RecipeZaar.
She would like to thank everybody who tries and comments on the recipes she has posted on Recipezaar, your feedback is very much appreciated.
