  • Cream lard and butter with sugar.
  • Add eggs.
  • Add vanilla, baking powder and baking soda.
  • Add sour cream.
  • Add flour.
  • Add oatmeal.
  • Add raisins.
  • Let stand 1 hour.
  • Drop by teaspoonful on baking sheet sprayed with Pam.
  • Bake 10 minutes in 350° degree oven or until golden.

  1. these are very cake like cookies and very soft! i actually subbed the lard for pumpkin puree and the raisons for chocolate chips and added some cinnamon.. i have to say they are probably the best pumpkin chocolate cookies i've ever had!!! but plain would be good too if you like a very cakey cookie.. i'd still add cinnamon too. very good cookie, thanks
