Irish Soda Bread

ingredients
- 8 ounces plain flour
- 1 lb whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 3⁄4 pint milk
- 1 tablespoon yoghurt
directions
- Combine all ingredients.
- Knead into a round and cut a cross on top.
- Bake on a cookie sheet at 400 degrees for 40 minutes.
- Serve warm.

This is a great, yummy plain soda bread! It has the perfect texture with a soft centre and a lovely crunchy crust! The taste is nutty and really good for slathering it with butter. On its own its a little too floury for my taste. Maybe adding some raisins could help that... I scaled the recipe back to one serving, baking it for 25 minutes and it turned out fab! THANKS SO MUCH for sharing this yummy recipe with us, Derf! It made my St. Patrick's Day special!
