  • First put potatoes in kettle.
  • Add ribs, carrots and onions; salt to taste.
  • Bring to slow boil, cover and cook for about 3 hours.
  • When done take out bones and mash.

  1. Great idea. I used cheaper cuts of pork and didn't mash the bones. Make sure you check the pot and stir every now and then. I wound up with a few scalded potatoes at the bottom. I also added some garlic, black pepper and paprika b/c that's what we had on hand - and that combo tasted good. Good comfort food.
     
  2. I live in the Netherlands and this is a delicious meal for the winter. I'm from California, so it was an unusual recipe to try, but worth the effort.
