I halved the recipe for two, and first toasted 3 muffins, halved. I used 2 cloves of minced garlic instead of the garlic powder, and in step one, I added half a mashed avocado and omitted the butter and used only about a teaspoon of mayonnaise, basically for flavour and the creaminess it brought to the texture. I also added a couple of drops of lemon juice. I was unfamiliar with the cheese mentioned, (referred to in the ingredients as "cheese spread") so I simply added about 3/4 cup of grated tasty cheese. And, because using half a can of crab would be a nuisance (the other half would invariably go to waste!), I used all of the crab meat on half the quantity of muffins. Elegance was not important for a casual at home meal, so our muffin halves weren't quartered to make triangles... but had I decided to cut them there would have been yummy filling falling about all over the place! So we ate - and SO thoroughly enjoyed - our very full muffin halves with salad greens with Sharon123's Quick Walnut Mayonnaise 327391 as our dressing. Thanks weekend cooker for sharing this super and versatile recipe, which would I can clearly see would be highly suitable in its more elegant triangular form as an appetiser. Made on this occasion as a casual meal for Newest Zaar Tag; destined in the future to receive accolades as a top class appetiser!
