Ready In:

  • Heat oil on high heat in a large nonstick pan.
  • Toss short ribs in flour, add to pan, and sear on all sides.
  • Reduce heat to low and add garlic; cook and stir for about 1 min.
  • Add tomato, mushrooms, Marsala wine, and Italian seasoning one at a time, allowing about 1-2 min between each for liquid to evaporate.
  • Cover pan and braise for 3 hr or until very tender, checking and stirring every 30 min to make sure liquid has not evaporated away (add more Marsala if liquid evaporates).
  • Increase heat to medium high and heat thoroughly.
  • Serve over tortelloni.

  1. I actually had to add in a little heavy cream to get the color and consistency that I wanted, but it tasted just like at the restaurant. I'm sure I'll be making it again.....
  2. I add about a pint of whipping cream. Wonderful
  3. I am unsure why the person below gave it a terrible review, but I’ve made this dozens of times & we love it. Is it exactly like OG? No. Bit it’s close. I worked at OG for a few months a few years ago & this is my husband’s favorite dish there.
  4. Not only does this not look or taste like olive gardens braised beef and tortellini, it's actually quite repulsive tasting. If I could give it less than 1 star I would.
  5. Outstanding recipe...Added 2 pints of heavy cream and about 1 tablespoon of basil (when I added the cream). Also, used about a 1/3 pound of New York strip instead of the beef tips. Seared the beef in step 1 to lock in the juices. After adding the heavy cream, added a bit of beef boullion (better than beef) to the mix. Always a hit. Wife loves itbeef boullion (better than beef). Family LOVES it and requests it for special meals! Thanks for the post!!
