How to Make the Ultimate Halloween Jell-O Shots

With just a few ingredients and a nifty silicone skull mold, you can make these scary margarita Jell-O shots that are the perfect, boozy treat for your Halloween spread. Serve them as part of a Halloween party or enjoy them while binge watching scary movies. You might just attract some ghoulish company with these electrifyingly green treats!

STEP ONE: GATHER YOUR TOOLS & GHOULS

The secret to a truly creepy jell-o shot? This handy skull-shaped ice mold, made of silicone for easy cleanup. Pro-tip: you’ll want to buy three of them in order to make a full batch of this recipe at one time.

STEP TWO: SPRITZ HERE, SPRITZ THERE

Don’t skip the non-stick spray! It’ll make unmolding your skulls a much less sinister experience.

STEP THREE: WIGGLE & JIGGLE

Limeade and unflavored gelatin form the base of this witchy brew, so give them a moment to properly mingle.

STEP FOUR: SPELLBINDING SPIRITS

Time to stir in the spirits — AKA tequila, triple sec and freshly-squeezed lime juice for a thrilling, chilling tang.

STEP FIVE: A DROP OF HOCUS POCUS

Add a dash of electric green food coloring to give the skulls an otherworldly glow.

STEP SIX: PETRIFY YOUR POTION

Carefully pour the margarita mixture into the closed skull molds and banish them to the fridge for at least 5 hours (preferably overnight) to fully set.

STEP SEVEN: THE EERIE REVEAL

Release the skulls from their chilly tomb and gently unmold them — they’re almost ready to wreak havoc.

STEP EIGHT: A WICKED GOOD TIME

Just before serving, cover a plate with a layer of kosher salt and place the skulls on top for the complete margarita effect. Happy haunting!
