Funky Monkey Smoothie (Super Easy)

"This is my favorite smoothie! Great for breakfast or mid-afternoon snack. I always have all these things in my house already. The PB adds a protein boost while the small amount of chocolate makes me feel like I'm cheating! Oh yeah, my little ones Love this one too."

  1. I made this exactly according to the recipe. It didn’t taste good at all. It’s so weird, I didn’t really taste any banana or PB?! It was very bland tasting. I used to work at a health food store and made smoothies all day. They sold a Funky Munky and it was delicious! I can’t remember the directions/ingredients unfortunately.

  2. DD made this last week for the first time and I think she has made it 4 more times since then.<br/>Needless to say she LOVES it! Thanks for the recipe!

  5. I followed the recipe almost exactly but used 2 ice cubes and filled a 1/4 cup measure about half and half with peanut butter and chocolate syrup. So, I'm not sure my measurements were exact. The result was pretty good, but the peanut butter flavor was just a bit too strong for me. I think next time I will use a little more chocolate and a tiny bit less peanut butter. The texture was really good though, and I could hardly tell there was banana in it. It tasted almost like drinking a sweeter version of the inside of a Reese's peanut butter cup.

Tweaks

  1. I will add another banana, more PB and I guess some sugar or a different sweetener next time. Also I think more PB.

  2. DELICIOUS! A nice change from our fruity smoothies! Thanks. Instead of peanut butter, I used our favorite sunflower seed butter. mmmm, mmmm good! Thanks for sharing!
