Chewiest Brownies

"In my opinion, a brownie isn't a brownie unless it has some "bite" to it. It needs to be dense and chewy not "caky". This brownie recipe fits the bill and I've tried many recipies. Although this recipe does not call for frosting...it tastes a lot better with your favorite chocolate icing."

  1. I tried this recipe last night and it is EXACTLY what I was looking for! I love chewy brownies and typically the corners are the only part I truly enjoy. This recipe allows me to eat the entire pan (almost) without having to fight for a corner! I did make one change only because I ran out of white sugar. I substituted approx. 1/2 cup brown sugar to get the full two cups. I also baked about 5 minutes longer, but I think that was due to cooking on the top most rack of my oven, since my oven tends to burn on the lower racks. Amazing recipe!! My husband has claimed it better then box(his previous favorite) and requests them to be made often!! Thanks!!!

  2. Do you want chewy brownies? If yes, please continue to make this recipe. You will not be disappointed. Note: The brownie dough will be a lot more dry and thick than normal brownies, just believe and keep going, they are on their way to tastiness.

  3. i love the texture (very chewy) but this recipe is way too sweet, even for someone like me who has a massive sweet tooth. it came out with shiny tops and dense, moist, and chewy centers and all...but does anyone know a way to reduce to sugar without sacrificing the looks and texture? x

  5. I don't know if it's missing something but I followed the recipe exactly and the texture seems off to me. I also used 1 1/2 cups of white sugar and a 1/2 cup of brown sugar. They almost taste a little chalky. Other than the texture they're pretty tasty.

I am a teacher in the Greater Toronto Area for the past six years. I have a big sweet tooth so, I love to bake. I took up baking after I developed certain food allergies and commercial foods wouldn't do anymore. I started to bake to satisfy my cravings and that's what I am now known for.
