  1. This is so EASY and so GOOD! I will definitely make this again! I made it in my largest rectangular glass pan so we could see the layers when it was finished. I didn't have any almond extract so I omitted it. My kids wanted a chocolate topping, so I substituted chocolate pudding + 1 heaping tbsp cocoa for the vanilla pudding. The combo of dark chocolate, cherries and a light creamy topping is just irrestible. Everyone had seconds...

  2. looks very nice but the picture it;s round and inthe recipe it says 9x11

  3. This cake is very good, however the Pudding mixture for the topping is very runny and didn't make for a good cake. It ran all over the place. Next time I make it, it will just be with the cool whip with the vanilla extract. Instead of chocolate sprinkles, I shaved bittersweet chocolate on the top.

  4. My Family Loved this Cake We will make again.

  5. OOooo. Yummy! I used Whipped Topping from the Carton (I prefer fresher ingredients. . .) and Chocolate Pudding for the frosting, AND had chocolate pudding with the cake mix (was an accident that I put it in there, worked well -- can't remember what I didn't to balance. I think I had to cook it longer, and used a little more liquid). Tastes better than ANY cake I've had in a store. Any cake I've EVER HAD!

Tweaks

  1. I made this for my husbands birthday and rec'd many "points"! A beautiful, delicious and easy to make cake. I used real whipped cream instead of cool whip for a true homemade taste.
