- 1⁄2 lb mature welsh cheddar cheese, grated (Colliers)
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 tablespoon flour
- fresh ground black pepper
- 4 tablespoons beer
- 1 tablespoon laverbread (or substitute Nori sushi sheets, cut up and soaked to a paste)
- 4 thick slices bread
directions
- Melt butter, cheese, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, flour, and pepper on medium low.
- Add beer to a good consistency. Remove from heat and let cool when it is a thick paste consistency.
- Toast bread on one side. Spread seaweed mix on untoasted side, then spread cheese mixture. Broil to brown the top.
