"After many failed attempts to create a healthy all purpose sandwich like bread for my family, this is what I came up with. This makes a 2lb loaf in my Zojirushi bread machine."

  1. Just thought this bread was ok tasting. You can not taste the oats or honey at all. My husband just thought it was basic wheat bread.

  2. You have to try this bread. It is absolutely wonderful. I did add sunflower seeds, sesame seeds and wheat germ to total 1/2 c. I baked mine for 30 min. at 350 deg. and should have baked it a little longer. It will be our go to bread.

  3. Excellent bread! Texture is fantastic, and made a large loaf. I did as KUW suggested and added a tsp of lemon juice, and baked in the oven in a bread pan. Next time I'll add some seeds for more texture. Thanks!!

  4. DELICIOUS! Soft, yet chewy ~ made a huge loaf! I substituted toasted sesame seed for the wheat germ and added 1/2 cup toasted sunflower seed. Also added 1 teaspoon lemon juice as a shelf life extender. Baked in Pyrex for 25 minutes at 350F. Made for Spring PAC 2009 ~ Thanks Baby Rebecca!

  5. This was really good and it made a HUGE loaf (I was watching it rise and was afraid it was going to open the lid of my breadmaker but it stopped just short of that). The only change I made was to use 2 cups of both kind of flour because I realized too late that I didn't have any wheat germ. Thanks for a great recipe!
