  • Cream butter brown sugar eggs and vanilla together.
  • Sift salt baking soda oatmeal and flour together.
  • Add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture.
  • Add walnuts and coconuts.
  • You can also add raisins and chocolate chips if you want.
  • Drop spoonfuls of mixture on cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 350°F for 8-10 minutes.
  • Yield 12 dozen.

  1. This is a great cookie recipe, love the taste of them. I used a little more of the whole wheat flour and vanilla (turn out great).
     
  2. Loved these cookies. Aftr cutting the recipe in half, I used 1/2 cup butter & 1/2 cup applesauce & only 1 cup oatmeal. I also left out the walnuts. Very soft & yummy. thanks so much!
     
  3. Enjoyed these cookies very much. I actually used 3 cups brown sugar to lessen sugar content a bit and it didn't seem to detract from the taste. Will be making them again. Great lunchbox stuffers for the kids.

i love to cook, love recipies and love cookbooks even more. the only prob is that i hate following directions. i treat most recipies as guidelines, and then create my way, which usually entales more garlic! thanks to all who have been sharing such great creations i just love it!
