How to Make Jell-O Shots

This alcohol infused treat will be a hit with your adult party guests.

Start with this quick, basic recipe and from there you can get creative. Try different Jell-O flavors, add fresh fruit, use different liquors or even get funky with the presentation.

1 Boil Your Water

Start by boiling 1 cup of water. Empty your Jell-O powder into a pitcher, and add the boiling water to it.


2 Stir

Stir the powder and water together until the powder is completely dissolved. Add in a 1/2 cup of cold water and a 1/2 cup of vodka. Stir them together until they’re well mixed.

You can also use a different type of liquor depending on your preference.

3 Fill Your Cups

Fill 2-ounce cups about half way full with your liquid mixture. Place the cups in the refrigerator until the Jell-O is firm (for about 2-6 hours depending on the temperature of your fridge).

For a different presentation, scoop out the pulp of a lime, lemon or orange and fill the fruit with the Jell-O liquid. Once it’s set, slice the fruit into wedges.

4 Serve & Enjoy!

Once the Jell-O has set, remove from the refrigerator and enjoy! For an even sweeter treat, you can top each shot with whipped cream.
