Bothnian Flatbread (Finnish maitorieska)

Traditional style bread from the river Kalajoki area in Ostrobothnia, Finland.

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 14 liter milk
  • 13 teaspoon salt
  • 14-13 liter barley flour

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 300 degrees F.
  2. Mix milk and salt.
  3. Add the flour, mix and form it by hand into a flat bread, about 0.5 cm thick.
  4. Bake for about 15 minutes.
  5. Serve with butter and cold milk.
