I am a free spirit woman, independent, love to cook Southern Italian, Indian, and Southern cooking. I live in a beautiful State, I enjoy the couple of warm days tending my garden, and my flowers. I canned lots of vegetables from my garden so when winter comes I have enough of fresh vegetables for my meals. I like to hunt, camping, fishing, hiking. I enjoy winter sports too. I like to entertain my friends, good wine, good cheese and good conversation. I have over 500 cookbooks, I buy them at flea markets, garage sales, thrift stores, even when I am traveling I am looking for old books. I have so many favorite books, and they show signs of using them. Recently I went to an auction, there was a box full of cookbooks, the auctioneer did not want to open the box because it was kind of a surprise. There were almost ten women bidding for the box, I won! The box had over 50 cookbooks dating back to 1930's from the depression era to almost the 50's but the most interesting book was a handwritten cookbook from a mother to a daughter as a wedding gift. The pages are yellow and stained from usage, I have the book in a glass box, I am planning to pass this book to my first granddaughter as a wedding gift too.
