@At Home in my Kitch
I live with my husband, two boys and two dogs and a cat in Southwest Michigan. I am a stay at home mom that loves to try new things. I love writing stories and I am currently trying to get my first book published and am working on my second book. Being in my kitchen puts me at ease whenever I am feeling down or overly anxious. I just get the required ingrediants and a glass of good wine and I can think or zone out there as much as I want, not a lot of family traffic goes in there, they know I'll put em to work! When I found this website I felt as if I had found the motherload!! It was great to know that so many people were posting recipes. This site has saved my hide many nights when all I had was broth and vegies and some mustard in the fridge! JK I have no idea what you would make with those ingrediants. It made me feel as if I had millions of other people right there in my kitchen helping and giving ideas!! I love the old fashioned cookbooks; you know the ones that you find in your grandmas cupboard. In the fall and winter I dive right into those and make all the recipes that take all day to make, like bread and candy, having the oven on and all those good smells really gets a good easy going mood flowing through the house. In the summer time we try not to turn on the oven at all so we have light meals that take almost time at all to make on the stove or no cooking at all. Or we rely heavely on the grill. My husband likes it when I find a recipe and he is able to make it on the grill that night, a good way to work together for us. We have recently switched our diet to semi vegetarian...no beef or pork. Just fish and chicken and turkey. It was nice to find so many vegetarian meals on this site. Well I guess that is it, I am glad to be a memeber of this site and I look forward to continueing to get many great recipes!
