@saucy sal
I worked as an Outside Plant Engineer for Verizon Communications for 28 yrs. It satisfied my "techy" inclinations, but was very left-brain. Cooking has always been a creative outlet- I love to shop for the best & freshest ingredients, I love experimenting in the kitchen and I adore the fragrance of simple, quality ingredients melding together into a cohesive masterpiece (or flop- it happens to us all!)My family and friends regard me as a pretty good chef, and there's nothing more satisfying than nurturing the people I love with the gift of food. Conversely, or maybe not so surprisingly, I grew up in a traditional role family,where my mother did all the cooking for the family. She didn't enjoy it, and it showed. Her motto was "get in on the table as quickly and easily as possible", and I grew to dread mealtimes. I learned to cook ( in self-defense) at an early age through cookbooks and friends, and those are still my primary sources but now I can add "RecipeZaar" to the list! Thanks for providing this site- I feel like a kid in a candy shop! I hope I can give back in some small way all that I have received here- there are some really fantastic recipes here and the ones that I've tried have all turned out to be delicious. Again, thank you for providing a terrific service!
