Love to cook, and create recipes. Learned from TV (long before Food Network existed--God bless Julia Child and public broadcasting TV). Also do love HGTV and Food Network, special favorites: Bobby Flay, early Rachel Ray, Giada de Laurentis,.... Then from my mother-in-law, an incredibly creative cook who did not own a measuring spoon, measuring cup or cookbook!! Love to bake breads, create meatless tasty dishes, nourishing smoothies from natural ingredients. Sharing your table with friends and family is a great joy and privilege, common to all societies. Favorite cookbooks: French Cooking, The Enchanted Broccoli Forest & Still Life with Menu (Mollie Katzen), Ladies' Home Journal Dessert Cookbook, From My Mother's Kitchen (Mimi Sheraton), Bake Your Own Bread (Floss and Stan Dworkin), Laurel's Kitchen...have large collection, including some from the early 1900's and from Colonial days (fun to read). Also enjoy gardening, home crafts, reading, American History, Bible study. Recently retired RN. Yippee!!!!!!!! Pet peeves: "cookbooks" that just throw together prepackaged foods. When I am seeking recipes, I have freshly prepared foods in mind.
