I'm a recent convert to vegetarianism but my husband is not. Since I have been doing most of the cooking it becomes a balancing act of seeing what I can add meat to later or what meat substitue he'll allow for me use. I'm a military brat who grew up with lots of ethnic food but very little "American" cuisine while my husband is a meat and potatos guy whose idea of green vegetables is parsley. My husband can fix any recipe that isn't turning out quite right but he can't follow a recipe worth a damn. I am the complete opposite. I can follow a recipe but when it doesn't taste right or the a sauce isn't coming along correctly I'm lost. We are probably one of the rare copules that gets along in the kitchen (well sometimes anyway).
