I am a former mariner and have sailed all round the world on merchant ships. This allowed me to indulge in culinary delights all over the world. Although I loved good food no matter which country I was in, but I always missed my Mum’s cooking. I had never cooked before until I was off the ship and was living on my own while studying for my professional exams in the UK. There, I had no choice but to cook. At first it was eggs. eggs and more eggs cooked in every possible way. Boiled, fried, omelette, with mince, potatoes, carrots, beans etc etc. As I got a bit braver I started adding various Asian spices, trying to make it taste like my Mum’s cooking but I wasn’t even close. Eventually I wrote to my mother who sent  me some easy recipes. From then on I got hooked on to cooking. At first it was primarily the dishes I used to eat at home and gradually I started experimenting and voila, a chef was born That was more than 25 years ago. After becoming a Chief Officer I left sea as I wasn’t enjoying it any more. First I got into media and advertising and then studied marketing and went to Cambridge to study Entrepreneurship.  I ended up specialising in Digital Marketing and worked for various companies in different countries. Now I am working as a Digital Marketing Consultant, which does involve travel, which is great as it allows me to continue to taste great food from around the world. In this blog I have primarily added my own recipes and some recipes of my favorite chefs from around the world. And the best thing is that not all recipes here are from professional chefs. I hope you enjoy my recipes. Thank you for reading this. Happy eating!!
