Hello. Fairly latecomer to enjoying cooking, and cook for good eating rather than addictive hobby (still hoping to get lucky). Split-personality food interests of anything smothered in fantastic gravy and--newly--of light and elegantly simple fine cooking with fresh ingredients. Married to a nutso fisherman, kids grown, tiny grandsons. Love to read anything and to garden. Transplant from urban Southern California to a semi-rural, very conservative area where clerks at my local lgrocery take pride (repeatedly) in not recognizing the modest selection of strange veggies showing up at their registers and have never heard of arugula. Happily, the Southern charm and good manners all around are very real, trying to absorb some. Have grown few fruits and veggies so far, but getting interested, although an international market with a lovely giant produce department is "only" an hour away. Thyme has been a favorite in my herb garden and cooking for years, though, ergo my name.
