Easy Ground Beef Roll

"This is a great recipe that I use often. The kids love it. The ground beef is rolled in a lovely dough. When baked, the dough has a light sconey texture to it. A 'must try' when you are tired of all the stock-standard ground beef options."

 1. For Americans: 2 tbsp oil, 1 lb beef, 2 tbsp parsley, 3/4-1 cup chutney, 2 cup plus 1 tbsp flour (9.75 ounces), 2 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp sugar, 2 tbsp butter, 1/2-3/4 cup cheese, 1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp milk

I'll review after I make it.

 2. This tastes good and I was happy to use up some leftover ground beef in a new recipe. I didn't have chutney, so I subbed a combination of apricots, pineapple, nutmeg and brown sugar. Because I couldn't follow the recipe exactly I wont click the stars, but I would give it a 4/5.

 3. This was surprising very good. Don't get me wrong, It was a different combination then I was used to and it was very very tasty. Had a bit for lunch and will have one tomorrow. Any left will go to the guys I work with on Monday. I loved it. I happen to have Chutney (Major Greys Mango Chutney in the fridge), I use it often. The flavor was great, very simple. One change ... when you brown the ground beef, make sure to drain first, If I were to add the onion and garlic and chutney, it would be oily. It needs to be drained so you don't have to much oil in the mixture. Secondly, I used monterey jack vs cheddar. I am not fond of cheddar and monterey jack was milder and to me worked better. I made the recipe in 2 small rolls and tried both for lunch. I preferred the monterey jack. But overall, an excellent fun recipe. I will definitely make this again. Loved it for lunch or dinner. Thx for posting ... Kim
