So much could go wrong with a food proposal. From broken teeth to accidental ingestion to a mix-up between tables that leaves another couple with a fancy new diamond ring, there’s always a bit of risk involved. Thankfully on Sunday at Dominique Ansel Bakery, one food proposal ended successfully with a “yes.”

News of the couple’s engagement was posted on Instagram by the man himself, Dominique Ansel (you can see the post and the adorable duo here). “Congratulations to Emoniel and Arielle, who got engaged at the bakery [on Sunday],” Ansel wrote, “The ring was hidden inside a Blossoming Hot Chocolate marshmallow, and when it bloomed, she said yes.”

The Blossoming Hot Chocolate is one of Ansel’s signature treats, which, like the Cronut and the Cookie Cup, has played well with both consumers and the media due to its clever “wow” factor. The hot beverage features a folded marshmallow that unfurls into the shape of a flower upon contact with the steaming liquid. This effect is achieved by folding the marshmallow into a thin chocolate cup; upon contact, the chocolate melts and the marshmallow flower unfurls.

The Blossoming Hot Chocolate is available at the Dominique Ansel Bakery at 189 Spring Street in Manhattan.
