It’s the earliest that the fan-favorite has ever been released.

Find your carving kits and start planning your Halloween costumes, because the spiciest season of them all is officially upon us.
In an announcement on Tuesday, Starbucks announced that its now-signature Pumpkin Spice Latte would be returning on August 28th—a week earlier than last year.
For those who may be (extremely) out of the loop, the Pumpkin Spice Latte is a hot espresso beverage made with steamed milk and flavored with pumpkin spices. It can now be customized with various alternative milks, and can be made with Starbucks’ blonde roast espresso.
There may be a month left until autumn officially begins, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get in the mood for falling leaves and the warming magic of a steaming latte—while it’s 80 degrees outside.
This year will be the PSL’s 15th anniversary. Since its introduction in 2003, it has become the coffee chain’s top-selling beverage, available in almost 50 countries. In addition, Starbucks sells pumpkin spice products in grocery stores, even announcing this year the release of a pumpkin spice cookie straw.
So celebrate the transitioning seasons and embrace the return of the spice. Like autumn, it will only last until the winter rolls around. Or will it?
